Garmin lily 2 in depth Review

This is new Garmin lily 2 which adds a botlo of new data new sports profiles a few metal case new band design and much more I and my teammates have been testing it over the last few weeks putting it thorough paces digging into what works well and what falls a bit short.

Pricing & Model

First things first lets talk about the price the price for lily 2 is $ 249(silicon bands) $279 for naylon band $299 for the leather bands the first two are called the classic edition and they only include the one single strap they don’t include a secondary sports strap which can be a compromise for some people but the positive point is that they have switched to a standard 14 mm strap in the past a proprietary one was used and that was not cool, Now you can see standard 14mm pins there so you can basically go buy a cheap strap or sports strap whatever you want and then just swap it in for yourself.
A little detail is that they switched to a metal case outside in contrast to the plastic case used in the past.
The case design is still the same 35mm case and the strap as I mentioned before is 14mm size.

Display & Health

Let’s familiarize you with the watch, including its new features, changes, and my personal favorites. Firstly, the display is now touch-sensitive, and it quickly turns off to conserve power. To wake it up, you can either tap the screen twice or simply raise your wrist slightly. This improvement is significant compared to the previous model, as the watch now responds immediately to the raising gesture, unlike before. Additionally, there’s a small button at the bottom that serves as a touch-sensitive area to navigate back to the main menu. You have several options for watch faces, and you can customize complications by tapping the upper left corner. Most data inquiries are handled by swiping left or right. Widgets like MyDay, Health Stats, and Weather provide useful information it also has female cycle tracking in it so you just need to log in all the necessary information and youll start getting predictions on when you are gonna get your periods and so on, with options to add or remove widgets according to your preference. Notably, you can now view sleep tracking data directly on the watch, a feature absent in previous models.

Sleep mode & battery Timing

I thought this required more attention because of the detailing, the Sleep mode is very nice in my opinion because at night it insures the display does not automatically turn on when you move around or accidently raise your wrist instead it requires a double tap on the bottom of the screen only then will the screen light up and it is amazing for a light sleeper like I. Talking about the battery its same as many other smartwatches 5 days battery timing before you need to charge it again

Garmin pay & sports Modes

Garmin pay is for the classic only, you can enter your credit card data and just use it, pay for something directly from your watch from there on the setting will depend on the watch face you are using. for the Sports modes you need to choose from the activities it has multiple options like Dance fitness, strength, running, cardio, yoga and much more .One more thing that improved is that the watch connects to the phone Almost instantly for a GPS tracking when you are out for Run, In Lily one it just never worked out right.

Disadvantages

Lily 2 is so good so far still there are somethings that don’t sit right with me foremost is that there is no temperature sensing on this device or ECG which is present in other Garmin smartwatches that are under $150-$200 and this particular $300 above lacks it.

Conclusion

Overall the feel to this watch is really good its recommended for the people who are just getting into smartwatches I wouldn’t recommend it to someone who focuses on the sports modes solemnly because this watch is good but there are other better options in the market than this. as mentioned earlier the quick gesture detection is a big improvement as well as the fake pauses issue is resolved in Lily 2 that is when during run you take stop for a some time it pauses the watch this issue was in Lily 1 and is thankfully resolved now.
